Equilibrium, Potential Energy, Center Of Gravity, Learning, And Growing
It is all about unlearning. It is all about going back to “I am here”. I am not somewhere else, I am not someone else. I am here and this is my starting point.
Gaps can create a huge amount of potential energy, depending on how big the gap is between where I am placing myself and where my inner critic places me. I would say that the point where my inner critic places me is my main center of gravity and that my expectations are the ones defining my position. So the gap between these two points defines my potential energy at a certain point in time for a certain activity.
Then, I just need to wait for an imbalance that will certainly appear. It will appear because being in equilibrium means continuously correcting small imbalances, correcting one movement with a countermovement to cancel the effect of the first one. There is no static equilibrium within, only dynamic.
Therefore, I just need to wait until the equilibrium is broken, until the imbalance cannot be corrected, and then I will fall.
Falling is not the real problem here. The real problem is the conversion of the potential energy mentioned before into pain, shame, and blame. So, if I put myself in a place where I have a small amount of “potential energy” I am going to be able to fall without suffering major consequences and therefore being able to learn without filling my backpack with all the unproductive weight of the pain, shame, and blame that otherwise will put me in a cage of fear and paralyze me.
As a father, as a man, as a person, I consider really important to put myself in a place where I can learn and grow that I can also share with my daughter to help her to learn and discover the world around her with wonder and, if possible, with low levels of pain, shame and blame.
